I was a Primary School teacher for a little over 20 years. One day on the way to a game of football, a friend suggested l open a patchwork shop. I’d always thought l’d love to work for myself. Didn’t watch much of the game that day, but by the time we got home l put my ideas to Ray. That night we decided to open Mrs Martin’s Quilt Shop.

We opened on March 21st, 2004. After 7 1/ 2 years we relocated Mrs Martin’s to our home.

If you want to make a quilt or a wall hanging, maybe a bag or a pincushion l can help you find the perfect project and get you started. There’s something for beginners through to the more experienced and those somewhere in between.

I stock what l love, it’s as simple as that.

Along with a range of fabrics and patterns l  also stock Cottage Garden Threads, DMC Threads, Matilda’s Own Batting, both Cotton and Wool and Olfa rotary cutters. As well as the basic necessities and gadgets, because quilters love gadgets.

Reproduction fabrics and those yummy muddy country colours are popular with the designers, our customers and Mrs Martin.

Overseas orders are most welcome, please order by sending me an email,

karen@mrsmartinsquiltshop.com That way l can give you a quote on shipping.

There’s always something going on…..
