Not long after Victoria went into Lockdown, my shop was shut and all the shows l had been booked to do were cancelled. l had a lot of time on my hands, felt that l needed to do something to connect with you. I chose to hand piece a quilt, Every day l chose a block to work on. I would go through my scrap box (it’s a big one, l don’t like throwing any fabric out!) to choose my fabric . That was a rule, use scraps. The only fabric l took off the shelves were the sashings, the corner stones and the binding.
Each night l wrote about my day and shared the block l’d made. I ended up making a 6 x 7 block quilt. The response l got from my FB friends kept me going through Lockdown.
This quilt is a reminder of what we went through in 2020. The positive for me was that it kept me focused. I have continued to write. That won’t change.
If you choose to make this quilt l hope you enjoy it. If you find any errors in my notes please let me know. I check and double check but it’s still possible l have missed things.
PS 6×7= 42. I haven’t given you instructions for 42 blocks. I doubled up on a few blocks, l actually didn’t realise that until l started sharing the blocks with you. It shows you how different the same block can look if it’s made with different fabrics.
