I have used this recipe for more years that l can to remember. I serve it with my Christmas pudding. You can make it days ahead. To be honest, l love it more than l like custard. I usually times the ingredients by 3 or 4.
Keep it in a jar in the fridge and simply reheat when you want to use it.
- 1 x tablespoon of butter
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon plain flour
Stir it all up, then add 1 cup of boiling water
