What’s happening in August……
Looks like the reps can now visit shops, so l will be able to see whats new.
Sewing Circles are up and running, but ladies are going to have to book their seat if they want to come. Hoping in a week or so things will ease up a bit, but at the moment a smaller group is better than no group at all. It’s interesting, l have still had a pretty good year in the shop. Writing on Facebook every night has increased my number of followers, people seem to have enjoyed seeing what l am working on and what l have been up to. They also share their stories which has really kept me going. You are all far more interesting that Ray, who by the way has thoroughly enjoyed Lockdown.
I am happy t say that l have started stocking Liberty Lawn. I had my first shipment a week or so ago. Another 12 bolts will be arriving in about 6 weeks. At the moment l am creating a few shop samples using it. I have always loved a good floral, so it makes sense to start stocking it. Didn’t realise how lovely it was until l started working on The CGT Field Journal, 4 small pieces for each month just wasn’t enough for me. Now l have my own shelf which l am going to fill. I won’t always be getting in the same stock, makes sense to try something new each order.
My sewing basket…..
l am hand piecing a block called Marrakesh. There are 3 templates in the set. It make a 17″ Star. I am going to make 4. Great size for bed/ table topper. (I am only using it as a table topper for decoration, if somebody spills anything on it l will be very sad. I am using Liberty Lawn for the pieced blocks, a plain white for outside blocks and a lovely grey and white paisley to join the blocks. It’s coming together nicely. Theres a few days work in each of the blocks so that should keep me out of trouble for a couple of weeks.
I have had to reorder the template set, sold what l had in a couple of days. Hoping they will be here by the end of the week.
Out and about…..
Packing up on Friday 13th, working at Fig n Berries Stitching in day in Mooroolbark on Saturday14th and Sunday 15th. This will be my first outing for a very long time. I am excited, Ray is even more excited, he’s got the house to himself.
Quilt Camp is in September. Have a lot of ladies joining us. Love anytime spent down at Island. Always enjoy a few days by the beach. The ladies are entertaining, most have a list of things they want to work on, others do nothing at all. Suits everyone.
Have almost finished my stock take. It takes a couple of days to do the count and then it’s just put it together so that my accountant can find all the info she needs.
If you can spare a few minutes visit my face book page. I write about my day just before l head off to bed. Started it when COVID sent us into lockdown last year and haven’t stopped. Love sharing my day with those who visit my page. I have the ability to write a lot about nothing!
Have a ripper of an August, it’s out wedding anniversary in a couple of weeks, married in 1984. Goodness me that’s flown, it hasn’t always been a picnic in the park, we have had a few challenges along the way, no different to anyone else, but we have dealt with them all. We have 2 great kids, a fabulous daughter in law and a little grand daughter who we love to bits. And we are still best mates (Most days!)
Catch you next month.
