And it’s goodbye to 2020, toughest year my generation has had to deal with, but we’ve done it! Well done Victoria. Lovely to be able to have Christmas with family, it was brilliant. And that’s all l have to say about 2020!
Welcome 2021. I am on holidays until Tuesday January 19th, but have been lucky enough to be invited to a small gathering locally on the 16th. Have had a few customers call in, if l am around you are more that welcome but l won’t be dressed to impress, you will probably find me in my gardening clothes. If you can cope with that, swing by. If you are making a special trip before the 19th l would suggest you send me a message to see if l will be around.
It’s been crazy, but fun since l closed for Christmas, 2 birthdays, Christmas lunch for 10, and January 1st we have Ray’s cousins coming for lunch. There will be 12 of us. It’s an easy one to host, everybody brings food, l provide the venue and a sunny day in the Hills, easy! So my real holiday starts around 6.00pm tomorrow night.
I am going to offer Saturday Sewing here on February 12, we start at 9.30am and go through til 3.00pm. You are welcome to bring your sewing machine. It’s BYO lunch, l will provide tea/ coffee or perhaps you’d prefer a glass of my home made cordial and lollies. Cost for the day is $20.00 per person. 10% discount on any purchases on the day.
If your Sewing Group would like to book a day to sew in the shop you are more than welcome to get in touch and we can organise a date, minimum of 6, maximum of 10 people. BYO lunch. Tea, coffee and lollies provided, $20.00 per person. 10% discount on purchases on the day.
The Monbulk Quilt Show will be on Saturday March 6th, it is the long weekend this year (the long weekend is not normally on on the first Saturday, but it was last year and it will be this year).
I will be putting out the call for quilts, l made 3 COVID quilts during Lockdown and l know many others have been busy as well. I would love to have 50 quilts on display on the day, limit will be 2 a person, costs $5 per quilt. During February l will start posting more information about the show on my Facebook and Instagram page.
We snuck our show in before COVID took hold and l think the show may nearly be the first for 2021! Really hope you can make it.
The Knife Sharpener ….. Julian wasn’t allowed to visit last year, but he’s back this year. If you need knives, scissors or garden tools sharpened you are welcome to drop them off before the 10th of February. I can’t wait, l think every knife and every pair of scissors in our house needs to be sharpened.
Can l just thank all those who have been reading my nightly Instagram and Facebook Posts (they are the same). It helped me heaps during the year, loved sharing what was happening in my life, what l was sewing, stupid things l got up to and how l was feeling. I feel l have made lots of new friends. The posts have become a habit that l plan to continue, l think it was easier to give up smoking cold turkey over 20 years ago.
And that is me for another month, visit my FB page to see what’s happening and what’s new.
Catch you next month
